Through out the years of my life I've experienced some disappointments that planted some negative seeds. I became accustom to thinking that plans will fail and in some way this person will let me down.
I had the mentality of " I'm only giving you what you give me" and " I can't trust you as far as I can throw you" The mentality of expecting that One good thing to go wrong without any signs of it even crumbling yet.
These were issues that were hidden deep within me from my childhood that would one day eventually surface.
My walls were guarded but in all the wrong places.
It was also very hard for me to even receive a compliment with out a negative response
For example- "You look good today Bri!"
My response " Who me? I look a mess!"
So even when good came along I was already looking for the negative parts in it and not realizing that the words I was speaking were just adding death to it.
The Bible says in Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruits.
My God how your Words are so true!
A Minister once said "The words that come out of our mouth go into our own ears as well as other people’s, and then they drop down into our soul where they give us either joy or sadness, peace or upset, depending on the types of words we have spoken.
When we understand the power of our words and realize that we can choose what we think and speak, our lives can be transformed.
It's really your choice!
I believe that we pick up patterns in our family and what we see growing up that is past down from generation, but the beauty in having a relationship with God is knowing that you can make the choice to stand up and say "It ends here!- with me!
Your words have power! Change your thinking!
By walking in obedience and surrendering all to God mentally, physically, emotionally laying it all down at His feet.
Allowing Him to renew your mind, your thinking, your speaking, your heart and soul.
It was than that He was able to remove the veil I was holding over my own eyes and everything just started to make sense. I have to be honest with you though, the process wasn't easy it was painful & long but only cause my stubbornness made it to be.
I'm so grateful that I am at a good place now that even though He is still doing the mending in me
I am fully aware that we have the power to change these ugly thoughts, and that it really just starts with the renewing of our mind and words.
I pray that you think about what you thinking about just really think about those thoughts! Really think about what you are letting into your mind to believe, and just throw away all the negative starting today!! and speak life into your situation!
Make it your duty to Love without expecting anything in return because Gods love does not seek it's own.
Love
